audio by album horror showCourageous (MASH) by Doc Honcho8:39 minutes (11.89 MB) A mutated remix of an already noisy song. Crank it up, damn your ear drums!
Courageous by Doc Honcho5:25 minutes (4.96 MB) A noisy, dark soundscape. Close your eyes and imagine your alone in the woods, being chased by zombies. Or something.
Honey Trap by Doc Honcho4:30 minutes (6.19 MB) A surprisingly light sounding song, considering company it keeps. A few simple synths with layered drum beats to keep things moving.
Last Days by Doc Honcho6:58 minutes (6.38 MB) Another dark, synthy soundscape with a pervasive bell melody. The warm, retro sound comes from some DX-7 FM synthesizer presets I came across and played with for a while.
Last Days (MASH) by Doc Honcho11:09 minutes (15.31 MB) I just had to take a perfectly good song and smash it up. Another of the MASH'd Horror Show songs, it bears little resemblance to the original.
Prefered by Doc Honcho4:35 minutes (6.3 MB) One of the slower tracks from Horror Show. This one is somewhere between a "song" and a soundscape. A very simple drum part accentuates the free form melody. The whole thing is underscored by a deep synth and a subtle white noise.
So Softly Spoken by Doc Honcho4:21 minutes (3.98 MB) A good old fashioned noisy industrial-sounding song. A strong drum part is underscored by a layered cacophony of synths and sound effects.
Try Harder by Doc Honcho5:48 minutes (7.97 MB) Although this one doesn't quite fit with the rest of the songs in this collection, it was produced around the same time and thus got lumped in with the rest. It's still one of my favorites, with a strong drum part, many layered synths and a pretty strong lead melody.
Unbroken by Doc Honcho5:00 minutes (6.88 MB) This one is pretty mellow. A soothing drone pervades, with soft bells providing texture. A very simple, tribal-ish (yes, I CAN make up my own adverbs, thank you very much!) drum part ties the song together. The second movement sounds inspiring, like maybe the end of a particularly nasty horror film where only the male and female leads survive and fall in love. Then again, I might also be dangerously insane :)
Peak by Doc Honcho7:45 minutes (10.65 MB) Honestly, I'm listening to the song and I'm not entirely sure how to describe it. It's a fairly light sounding song, with soft bells and a lush synth-string, tied together with an extremely simple drum line. Several different lead synths provide the melody. All in all, after not hearing this one for quite a long time I must admit that I'm fairly impressed. I like it.
